My name is Trey Bryant and I am like every 13 year old boy. I love all sports , playing games on the Playstation, listening to my CD’s and hanging out with my friends.
I was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetrology of Fallot with absent pulmonary valve. This defect involves blockage of blood flow to the lungs, a hole in the wall between the two ventricles, and no pulmonary valve to regulate the blood flow. I have had three heart surgeries to repair the defect and I will have to have another one at the ages of 16-18 to replace the pulmonary valve that does not grow.
Baseball is my favorite sport. When I am not on the pitchers mound, I am either playing shortstop or second base with one exception. I have to wear my chest protector or I cannot go out on the field. My cardiologist is the one who told my mom and dad about the chest protector. It is part of my equipment just like my bat, glove, and helmet.
The chest protector fits my body because it molds to my size and shape. I can still pitch and make the plays to get the outs. It is comfortable and does not affect the way I play. No one knows I have it on unless I tell them. I wear it under my shirt during games and at practice.
Thanks!, All Sports Armour, for making the chest protector so kids like me and anybody else can play their favorite sports.
Sincerely, TREY BRYANT
